Skin Rejuvenation
1. Photo Rejuvenation
Better Looking Skin in the Flash of a Light!
The signs of aging go beyond fine lines and wrinkles. Photo damage is the result of a lifetime of ultraviolet light exposure. The visible signs include pigmentary changes, course skin texture, spider veins, facial redness, enlarged pores, and of course, wrinkles. Intense Pulsed Light treatments are designed to combat the effects of aging with a gentle approach.
What is IPL?
Intense Pulsed Light, commonly known as IPL, delivers high intensity computer controlled pulses of light that penetrate the skin and heat the sub-surface layers. The heating action damages or destroys problem conditions like excess pigment and unwanted spider veins, while stimulating healthy, new collagen. A series of IPL treatments can offer the benefits of a medium depth laser resurfacing or chemical peel without blisters, burns or long recovery time.
Who Are the Best Candidates for IPL?
These treatments are best for those who have:
What Are Treatments Like?
Generally, 4 to 6 treatments are recommended at 3-week intervals. Each full-face treatment takes about 45 minutes. Many patients describe the sensation to be like the snap of a rubber band on the skin. There is no discomfort following the treatment. The depth and degree of heat is highly controlled, so there are few risks and you may resume most normal activities right after an IPL treatment. Your skin may appear flushed, and tiny capillaries may appear more visible. Brown spots can also appear darker and you may experience some slight swelling, but all these changes fade over a period of hours to a few days.
What Results Can I Expect?
Beginning with your first treatment, your skin will have a more even tone, with a smoother look and feel. Sunspots will fade, pore size will shrink, and fine wrinkle lines are reduced. Skin redness, flushing and dilated capillaries gradually decrease. Intense Pulsed Light treatments offer a very high measure of patient satisfaction. A recent study showed that 96% of IPL patients would recommend the treatment to others. Begin your series today and restore natural beauty to your skin with no downtime!
2. DERMAL FILLER (JUVEDERM)
Why Choose a Cosmetic Filler?
Over time skin begins to lose volume and structure. That's when lines and wrinkles begin to appear. There are many options now available to improve the appearance of your skin. But when it comes to deeper wrinkles, injectable cosmetic fillers offer the best and most immediate improvement. The fillers used today offer more long lasting results and don't require an allergy test. The procedure is simple and can be done during your lunch hour.
At SKINovative of Gilbert we use Juvederm which is a Hyaluronic Acid filler. Hyaluronic Acid is a natural substance found in the human body. Juvederm has the consistency of a gel and the effects can last 6 months or longer.
3. CHEMICAL PEELS
What is a Chemical Peel?
Chemical Peels have been used for decades to revitalize and resurface skin. They involve applying a chemical solution to remove the damaged outer layers of skin and reveal a younger, clearer, more radiant complexion. They are commonly performed on the face, chest and hands.
Light, medium and deep peels penetrate to different levels and, consequently, produce different aesthetic results. Generally, the deeper the peel penetrates, the more profound the results, but the more lengthy the recovery period. An individual's skin type, degree of damage and personal expectations will help determine which chemical peel is most appropriate.
How Does It Work?
The process usually takes 30 to 45 minutes and although some patients' faces may seem a bit pink afterwards, there is no "downtime" and makeup can be applied immediately after the treatment. You can return to your normal schedule right away (though we recommend allowing the skin to breath for up to 24 hours post treatment). Two to three days following an ultra light peel, patients may experience temporary flaking, dryness and scaling, which can be controlled with a topical emollient.
